For most students, making informed post-secondary decisions can feel like navigating a maze. For undocumented students, however, this process can feel like walking on quicksand, as each uncertain step sinks them into uncertainty and potential harm. Undocumented students face unique and constantly shifting challenges as they pursue their education and build their futures.
This session will explore a range of postsecondary pathways. From 2-year colleges to 4-year institutions to vocational programs to entrepreneurship, we will explore how to identify options that align with your students' goals, strengths, and circumstances.
By examining real-life student scenarios, we’ll highlight practical methods for overcoming barriers, accessing resources, and creating sustainable plans in an evolving political landscape. We will also discuss the essential role that schools, families, and community networks play in empowering undocumented students to thrive.
