About the Client Services Team

We partner with clients to:

  • assess and evaluate existing client programs and processes through quantitative and qualitative analysis;

  • define the current and necessary resources critical to achieving the client’s objectives;

  • establish interim progress indicators toward their students’ postsecondary outcomes and goals; and 

  • create a set of strategic actions, that include key recommendations, incorporating processes and structures essential for success.

Our clients consist of traditional school districts, public charter school districts, education nonprofits, charitable foundations, and regional intermediaries/backbone organizations.

Position Summary

The charge for the Director, Client Services is to lead, design, and manage client experiences resulting in strategies and solutions aligned to client goals. In addition to designing the client experience, this role will support and consult clients with ongoing implementation needs as they put in place strategies and supports to improve student outcomes. Given this role will manage our growing portfolio of work in California, ideal candidates would have experience collaborating with California school systems (K-12 and higher education) and supporting program implementation. 

This position reports directly to the Senior Partner, Client Services. This is a full-time, remote-based position with an expectation of 25-35% travel time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategic design and planning. Design and implement processes, systems, frameworks, and resources that support clients from problem definition and stakeholder engagement to solution design, testing, and implementation. Set vision and strategy for new and emerging workstreams aligned to Contigo Ed’s growth and impact goals.

  • Project leadership and management. Facilitate strategy and planning meetings with client leadership and provide direct consulting support and project management for subsequent project work. Work is likely to include, but not limited to: planning and leading regular meetings with clients to understand and define the problems to be solved, setting clear expectations and monitoring progress, reporting progress to larger Contigo Ed team and leveraging organizational capacity and resources, overseeing the development and presentation of final project deliverables, ensuring Contigo Ed and clients are meeting established deadlines and achieving project objectives and timelines, etc.

  • Data insights and implications. Analyze and interpret aggregated data and other potential data sets (e.g., qualitative interview and survey responses) to identify performance highlights and gaps related to client goals. Distill insights from analysis that will inform client strategies. Communicate analysis insights to various stakeholders including district leaders and other non-district clients (e.g., community partners, collaborating non-profit organizers, funders/philanthropic supporters, etc.)

  • Codification of team strategy. Collaborate with members of three internal teams (Client Services, Professional Learning, and Data & Analytics) to develop connections across projects and workstreams resulting in effective strategies for clients and processes that inform future Contigo Ed implementation support offered to clients.

  • Implementation and change management support. Provide customized consulting / implementation support to clients looking to implement recommended strategies. The nature of these supports could include helping build client capabilities in data collection / analysis, crafting and communicating vision, building and implementing frameworks, training and supporting staff, ongoing coaching and strategic support, etc.

  • Team leadership and development. Manage and mentor team member activity, and external contractors when required, ensuring high-quality project delivery, professional growth, and alignment with organizational values and goals.

  • Other duties as assigned. Assume other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Partner, Client Services.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences

  • Minimum of 7+ years of full-time, relevant experience in consulting and/or strategic leadership role(s) (for-profit or non-profit) that include vision-setting, project management, working collaboratively across teams, and reporting out to clients / partners / administration.

  • Highly effective interpersonal presentation, communication, collaboration, and writing skills.

  • Successful experience managing client contracts and relationships; Experience working closely with school districts is highly preferred, but not required.

  • Successful experience managing internal processes/projects toward goals, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Ability and organizational skills to coordinate with, collaborate with, and manage multiple clients simultaneously.

  • Proficient in Microsoft platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • Prolonged and irregular hours of duty, as necessary

  • Some light to medium level of manual labor (e.g., preparing mailings, moving boxes of materials, etc.)

Compensation

Competitive salary is commensurate with an individual's experience and skills. The starting salary for this position is $146,286 with the opportunity for a performance bonus and a salary increase after six months of successful employment. All full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package.
