Outcomes Bonus and TPRS Update
Fall 2024
Previously, Contigo Ed published two blog posts sharing information on TPRS (A guide to TPRS: Our go-to source on Texas data) and the CCMR Outcomes Bonus (July 2024 CCMR Outcomes Bonus (OB) Updates). In this post, we’ll provide some updates on TPRS and CCMR Outcomes Bonus data.
Release of TPRS CCMR data for 2023 graduates
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the 2023-2024 TPRS reports in mid-September, including CCMR data on 2023 graduates. These reports are available at the state, region, district, and campus level. Below are a few of the highlights in statewide CCMR trends:
The percentage of graduates who are College, Career, or Military Ready increased to 76.3% for the class of 2023 (from 70.0% for 2022 graduates).
The percentage of graduates who met TSI readiness in both subjects increased by a similar percentage to 48.4% for the class of 2023 (from 42.2% the cohort prior).
New CCMR Outcomes Bonus (OB) Report
Note - For more information on the CCMR Outcomes Bonus and how to calculate your drawdown amount, please refer to our previous blog post.
The 2023-2024 TPRS release also includes a new report titled “CCMR Outcomes Bonus”. This new report is in response to feedback to allow practitioners to understand how students are qualifying for the bonus. To access this new report, go to TPRS → Postsecondary → CCMR Outcomes Bonus Report. This report is only available when viewing a district TPRS report (not available for campus, region, or state reports).
The report includes the data in the screenshot below broken out by Economically Disadvantaged, Non-Economically Disadvantaged, and Special Education students. Reports are currently available for the classes of 2020-2022.
The report does not calculate the amount of OB earned, so you can either use the data in the last column (Met CCMR OB Criteria Above Threshold) to calculate it yourself, or you can follow the steps in our previous blog post to look it up in the Summary of Finances report. To calculate the OB drawdown ($) amount yourself, you can multiply the values in the final column by the following and sum the sub-totals:
Economically Disadvantaged - $5,000 for every OB-eligible student above threshold
Non-Economically Disadvantaged - $3,000 for every OB-eligible student above threshold
Special Education - $2,000 for every OB-eligible student (note that this would be in addition the amount this student would drawdown from the prior 2 bullets)
Early Outcomes Bonus Counts Report
TEA also recently released Class of 2023 College, Career, Military Readiness Outcomes Bonus (CCMR OB) Early Counts File Now Available - see 8/30 Performance Reporting Newsletter for more details. These counts should only increase when final numbers are released in the Spring that include college enrollment data from THECB (currently only includes data from NSC).
See this data sheet here to see how these 2023 OB-eligible graduate counts translate to actual drawdown amounts. You can also check out this CCMR Outcomes Bonus dashboard from our friends at Commit (scroll down and click on the “CCMR” header in the dashboard).
If you have additional questions on how to calculate OB, use the new OB report or want help comparing your 2023 TPRS data to the state, region, or peer districts, please reach out to noa@contigoed.org. We are happy to support you!
